ACTIVITIES:

  • Detroit Lakes Community Strategies sub-committee aimed at promoting sustainable practices in Detroit Lakes and Becker County
  • Community projects relating to environment such as development, ATV/OHV issues, wetlands preservation, agricultural issues, etc.
  • Wood duck box and bluebird house projects
  • Take a Kid Fishing day
  • Joint educational programs with local birding club
  • Develop the Sucker Creek City Park in Detroit Lakes
  • Hunter Ethics program
  • Spring "Potluck" supper and trap shoot
  • Work with the Becker County Forestry Advisory Council which formulates county policy on county forestland
  • Hamden Slough National Wildlife Refuge Task Force
  • Adopt-A-Prairie Pothole program
  • Environmental education program involving "touch and see items" for grade schools
  • Establishment of the Tamarac Interpretive Association at Tamarac National Wildlife Refuge
  • Development of the North Country Hiking Trail System that will be coming through Becker County
  • Canada goose pRedator problem
