ACTIVITIES::

  • Monitor Blue Bird Trail (12 houses) in Oxbow Park of Champlin since 1980
  • Wetland preservation in Champlin and Brooklyn Park, and the state of Minnesota
  • Two annual fundraisers, Pancake Breakfast and Fall Sale
  • Monthly social/educational meetings
  • Create statements and write letters to various government agencies for protection of our natural heritage and environmental concerns
  • Conservation scholarship program, awarding 4 $500 scholarships each year
  • Own and maintain Chapter House on 4½ acres of natural property
  • Own and maintain a 27 acre island in the Mississippi River (behind the chapter house)
  • Involved in Oak Savannah preservation
  • Involved in the preservation and protection of Minnesota's North Woods and the BWCAW
  • Chapter field trips
  • Partnerships with River View Elementary Magnet School, Kids for Saving the Earth, and the Mississippi National River and Recreation Area
  • Work toward a chapter membership goal of 200
